Rand Sacks founded The Sacks Group, PLLC (“TSG”) in November 2007. TSG is a highly-specialized boutique law firm, focused entirely within the sports and entertainment industries. These include professional sports team contracts for coaches and athletes, college coaching contracts, marketing and endorsement agreements, representation agreements, stadium/naming rights, team/event sponsorships, and TV/movie production and talent agreements.. Current clients of TSG include Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, Troy Aikman, Joe Buck, Steve Young, Jay Cutler, Reggie Bush, Jim Furyk, Ben Howland, Mike Brey, Dan Jansen, and Bonnie Blair.. Before founding TSG, Mr. Sacks served as the General Counsel for WMG Management, and previously, as Assistant General Counsel for the SFX Sports Group. Former SFX-clients include: Kobe Bryant, Chase Utley, Andre Agassi, Andy Roddick, Brian Leetch, and Jerry Rice.. The aggregate value of the sports and entertainment contracts negotiated by Mr. Sacks is in excess of one billion dollars.. Mr. Sacks obtained his JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996, and his BA from Emory University in 1993.. Mr. Sacks is a member of the DC Bar as well as the Sports Lawyers Association. In 2008, Mr. Sacks was elected to the Steering Committee of Arts, Entertainment, and Sports Section of the DC Bar. He is a frequent guest lecturer in colleges and law schools, and he is the author of “The Restricted Earnings Coach under Sherman Act Review,” which was published in the Spring 1997 edition of The Sports Lawyers Journal.
