He is also a volunteer attorney with the JMLS International Human Rights Clinic and the Moran Center for Youth Advocacy in Chicago and Evanston, respectively. In the past, Alen has served on the NexGen Board of the Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans since October 2009 and as its Co-Chair from 2012 to 2015..
