TULLY LAW OFFICE, P.C., was established in Polk City in March of 2012, by Thomas (Tom) P. Tully. In 2013, the office was relocated to 3116 Ingersoll Ave in Des Moines, IA. As an older child, he and his family returned to the Tully “home base” in Dubuque, Iowa. Tom’s family has a deep background in business, art, politics and public service. His father, Thomas A. Tully, was his role model and was a successful public servant and businessperson in the Dubuque area. Tom’s mother, Joan DuBay-Tully, is a gifted professional artist in Dubuque. Tom looks to combine his unique experiences and his unending passion for learning, helping others, and technology with his entrepreneurial, creative, and cross-cultural skills to enhance his effectiveness as an exceptional attorney.. Tom’s educational background began with Computer Engineering and Industrial Engineering at Iowa State University. Later in life, he continued on to William Penn University and earned a degree in Business Administration. He then went on to the Drake University Law School where he received a Juris Doctorate degree. Tom has lived and worked in an array of locations from Washington DC, Boston, Minneapolis, to several areas in Iowa, finally making the Des Moines/Polk City area his home. Tom was born and raised in Hampton, Iowa and comes from a family of attorneys. Tom's father was a general practice attorney in Hampton, Iowa, for almost 50 years. Tom's older brother, Jim, was Governor Tom Vilsack's first appointment to the District Court bench.. Tom has been married to Julie (Steidl) Drew since 1984. Julie is currently a chef instructor in the Culinary Arts Department of DMACC. Tom and Julie's son and daughter are graduates of the University of Iowa. His daughter obtained her Master's Degree from Depaul University and is currently employed by a State University. His son sells real estate development ground and completed his MBA from the University of Iowa. Tom is expecting his first grandchild soon.. When not working, Tom enjoys flying airplanes and is an Airline Transport Rated Pilot and a Certified Instrument Flight Instructor. He currently owns and flies a Cessna 340A Ram IV and a Decathlon 8-KCAB. Tom also enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, watching independent fils and playing his bass guitar.

Zach is an Iowa native, born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Iowa State University in 2007 and graduated Cum Laude from Creighton University School of Law in 2013, finishing in the top 15% of his class (16th of 123). While at Creighton, Zach achieved the highest grade in two legal writing classes and tied for the highest grade in negotiable instruments.. Following law school, Zach accepted a year-long judicial clerkship with the Iowa District Court, Fourth Judicial District. As part of his clerkship, Zach performed legal research and writing for the judges of the Fourth Judicial District, which includes all the counties in Southwest Iowa. This experience was invaluable.. Besides practicing law, Zach enjoys volunteering for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, golfing and tennis.
