Michelle L. Eisenmenger opened her own practice after 15 years of practicing solely in family law at a boutique law firm, following her 2003 graduation from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville with a Juris Doctor degree. She is dually licensed in Kentucky and Indiana and has practiced family law in both jurisdictions for the entirety of her career. The youngest of five children, she became interested in family law after watching her siblings experience the difficulties of divorce.“I witnessed the emotional and financial devastation that can result from divorce as well as disputes over child custody, visitation and support. In each case, I wished that my brother or sister could achieve a peaceful and speedy resolution and thought this would best be accomplished by attorneys who consider not only the financial, but also the emotional results for their clients and their children.” Having since experienced those difficulties personally, she is especially empathetic for her clients and has become an even more zealous advocate for her clients’ rights and for peace for families. In 2017, she became a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, a prestigious nationwide organization of only the best family law attorneys, in which applicants must pass rigorous testing and receive the approval of existing Fellows of the Academy in order to receive fellowship. She has lectured around the Commonwealth of Kentucky to fellow attorneys since 2006 and is the author of several articles and treatise chapters on family law issues. She is the mother of the two coolest kids in the world (in her opinion) and is active with the Brandeis Elementary PTA.

I was on Western Kentucky's Forensics Team (speech and debate) where I honed my love of research and writing. From there, I spent a year with a law firm before actually attending law school. During law school, I externed with a local family judge and decided this was the area of practice for me. I only pracitce family law and primarily practice in Jefferson and Oldham Counties. When I am not practicing law, I spend time with my husband and sons, play co-ed softball, and cook.

As a lawyer, I realize that most of my clients come to me through referrals. It's important to me that every client understands their particular situation, and is comfortable enough with me to ask any question. I know that while court may be an every day experience for me, it's not for most of my clients, and I try my best to take some of the fear out of the process. Most importantly, I do my best to cut through the bull, and give advice that I would give to any family member.. Despite what some may think, divorce is not a win/lose endeavor. The goal of every divorce is to find solutions that work for the family. While there are times to take the gloves off and fight there also are times to step back and try and find common resolutions.. As a product of divorce, I understand the complexities of raising children during these difficult situations. As a mother of three children, and three stepchildren, I understand that it's not always easy. I run a child-centered practice.. In my spare time (who has spare time! ), I love traveling to new places with my kids, boating, reading, and spending time outside. If you have any questions, feel free to drop me an email.
