I believe that one of the most important skills a lawyer can have is the ability to listen. If I don't understand your needs and goals for a case we can never acheive a successful outcome. Before I went to law school I owned a small business in Baton Rouge and had hired lawyers on more than one occasion. It seemed that they never heard my concerns and I never knew what was going on in the cases. Because of that experience I make it important to hear the concerns of my clients and to keep them informed of the progress of their cases. The legal system is complex and if you are dealing with a legal issue you need to know that someone is on your side.

I originally grew up a New Orleans boy watching Saints football and attending Loyola University where I received a BA in Finance and was on the Dean’s List. After graduating, I worked for Hibernia Investments as a Senior licensed stock broker for five years, and then continued on to manage a multi-million-dollar medical sales territory for Kendall Vascular Therapy during which I received numerous sales awards. However, I knew all that time that I had a passion for helping people and enjoyed working in an extremely competitive environment. I knew that it was inevitable that I would return to Law School as it was always my dream.. At the time with three wonderful children and a beautiful wife, I attended Loyola Law School in New Orleans while residing in Prairieville. I spent my weekends studying, and most of the week working to support my family; and commuting to classes. This huge sacrifice paid off as I graduated in the top 10% of my class and received the Judge Duplantier Scholarship. I also received the Law Excellence Award for obtaining the highest grade in my evidence class. Additionally, I was awarded two paid prestigious summer clerkships at two of the top insurance and ERISA defense firms in New Orleans.. Although I gained great insight into the inner workings of insurance defense firms while clerking, I knew that I wanted to be a Plaintiff’s attorney. My aggressiveness fine-tuned while working as a stock broker and medical salesman made me a perfect fit to advocate for individuals’ rights against big insurance companies.. At the current time, residing in Prairieville for over fifteen years with now five children with my wife, I decided to set up shop as solo practitioner. I have represented clients for almost seven years to date in Prairieville, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Slidell and wherever needed. I have obtained millions in insurance claims for property and bodily injury damages. And more important than the money I have obtained for my clients, is that every client I have represented feels like they have been treated as a family member.. Personal service in addition to results it what distinguishes my firm from the Walmart firms. I handle your case personally, in addition to staying in regular contact with my clients personally to keep them informed of the progress of their case. Every single client that I have represented has referred me at least one friend or family member. I take this as a huge compliment when I receive a referral. My goal in addition to obtaining the highest possible settlement or verdict, is to create a positive experience when you choose me to represent you. If you are looking for personal service and excellent results, look no further as you have found your man. Losing has never been an option for me in life, and I will take that same philosophy into your case.

When asked why I stayed in New Orleans I always reply “look around…you don’t get any of this anywhere else.” I’m talking about the people, the culture, the new restaurants starting up on every corner, the festivals, the music, the love citizens have for their city. That is what made a small town Georgia girl leave home and stay.. That’s right, I’m your typical small town Southern Georgia peach plucked from the tree but I somehow landed right here in the CBD in New Orleans starting my own law firm with a husband I have the privilege of working alongside every day. How does that happen?. I grew up outside of Atlanta and went to the University of Georgia and studied Psychology and Art History. While at UGA I worked in the Clinical and Social Psychology Departments as research assistant. This led me to work at a domestic abuse shelter for battered women and children. It was during my time at UGA that I developed a fascination with the law and the legal system. After visiting New Orleans to watch the Dawgs play in the Sugarbowl, I was hooked and knew I had to attend law school here in this great city.. I moved to New Orleans in 2008 and haven’t looked back since. I studied law at Loyola University New Orleans and received both International Law and Environmental Law certificates. While I’m proud of these certificates, I was most influenced by my time spent as a member of the Trial Advocacy Program (Mock Trial). It was during this time that I honed my skills as a trial attorney and became more interested in criminal defense and personal injury. I was honored to serve as their President my senior year and was chosen amongst the professors and administration at Loyola to receive the Order of the Barristers. I was humbled to receive such a coveted award for superb oral advocacy. Today, that is one of my favorite and greatest accomplishments.. With my experience and education, I was accepted into the Loyola University Clinic Program and my final year I was able to practice law as a student practitioner under the guidance of a mentor. During this time, I worked alongside other attorneys within the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office in their Juvenile, Criminal and Appeals Divisions. In addition, I practiced in the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office and was fortunate enough to even help out on a first degree murder trial. Without these experiences, I would not be the accomplished and confident attorney I am today.

Ryan is a partner with the firm of Talley, Anthony, Hughes & Knight, a firm that has proudly represented clients throughout Louisiana for over 100 years. Prior to joining the firm, Ryan worked for four years in New Orleans dealing with the unique legal issues presented by Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, including commercial landlord/tenant disputes and property damage coverage disputes.. In addition to defending general automobile claims, Ryan has been involved in several cases dealing with commercial trucking disputes, which suits implicate the federal scheme unique to interstate commerce. His experience also includes products liability cases, where he has represented clients on both sides of the issue. In the last eight years, Ryan has spent considerable time defending public entities, gaining particular skill in federal civil rights claims.. Possibly the greatest testament to one's legal ability is the recognition of your peers. Ryan is proud and grateful to have been recognized by his peers with an AV rating with Martindale Hubbell, awarded to those attorneys displaying the highest level of professional excellence. Ryan was also recognized as a "Rising Star" by Super Lawyers, an award given to only 2.5% of those lawyers under 40 years old.. Ryan is most proud of his family. His better half, Renee, is a school teacher with the St. Tammany Parish public school system. They are the proud parents of a daughter and son, both of whom keep him young in spirt despite the diminishing hairline.
