As a Family Law Attorney having experience in Divorce/Separation cases and representing a wide range of clients, I am skilled in creative and constructive solutions to complex situations in both contested and uncontested divorces. Carol A. Carol has represented clients in high-conflict cases in courtrooms across Eastern MA. For over 25 years, Carol practiced in Middlesex, Essex, Worcester and Suffolk Counties before relocating to scenic Cape Cod in 2016. From 2002 to 2007, Carol represented the Mother in the case of Mason v. Coleman which set the current standard of review in removal cases when the parents share physical custody. Following the SJC decision in 2006 denying Mother's relocation, Carol continued to advocate for Mother who ultimately was permitted to move the children out of State. Family law cases require a unique commitment to the client due to the highly emotional issues, the length of time required and the evolving nature of family and parenting law.

I transitioned to divorce and family law after 15+ years working in accounting and operations for start-up technology companies. I strongly believe lawyers overlook the client experience and often force clients to work their way instead of the best way for the client. I try to look at everything from the client's perspective and try to make things as easy as possible for them.. I am a firm believer that the best way to resolve disputes is through direct communication with the other party. The court system should be the last resort, and I have no problem advising clients that they are better off handling an issue themselves if practical. I view the client relationship as a long-term collaboration rather than a quick money grab. I would much rather a client be completely confident in recommending our firm to a friend or come back years later when they do actually need a lawyer than feel taken advantage of.. I specialize in divorces with financial issues, whether high-income or net worth, family-owned businesses, real estate, retirement assets, or stock options and other equity compensation. All divorces have a range of issues though, so I am certainly not limited to financial cases by any means.. I understand that there is a lot at stake in every family law case, and every case is unique. I consider myself fortunate to be able to work with clients from all walks of life, and I love doing what I do because I know two days will never be the same.

Firm: Miller Law Group, P.C.
304 Turnpike Road , Southborough , Massachusetts 01772
Practice Areas: Divorce & Separation, Family, Alimony, Child Custody, Child Support
What Attorney Andy Miller likes most about divorce and family law is that he gets to develop a close relationship with his clients and their families while helping them in their hour of need. “When people come to you in family law situations, they really need guidance and someone to help them through this major life change,” he says. “I represent those in need of a strong and zealous advocate.”. Attorney Miller has represented scores of men and women over the years in divorce, child custody and parenting plans, child support, alimony, modifications and contempt of court actions. He thrives on some of the most challenging cases, where he has earned a reputation for resolving complex family law matters and fighting to get his clients the best possible results. He also helps clients analyze all aspects of their situations, taking into account tax implications and other financial considerations that are often overlooked.. Andy is known to size up cases quickly, creatively negotiate and craft intricate settlements, and is a highly skilled litigator. His dedication to clients and easygoing manner is a throwback to the days when doctors made house calls.. He is a master when it comes to high-conflict matters, where he often is successful at “showing people that impossible situations can indeed be possible.” He’s also adept at handling cases with high-net-worth clients or those with high assets. “I’m good with numbers and enjoy the challenge of untying complicated financial knots and finding fair solutions.” But the cases he likes best are those involving children, especially in complicated custody cases. “I’m a dad and I love children, so my soft spot is making sure that they are always protected, considered and cared for.”. Attorney Miller recalls one of his favorite cases, in which he helped a father get his daughter back. The father had been awarded custody of the little girl in another state, but the mother brought the girl to Massachusetts instead. Attorney Miller proved the father had a valid court order from another state, granting him legal custody. The judge not only upheld the custody order, but also gave Attorney Miller the authority “to have any and all police departments execute the safe return of the child to her father.” After the judge’s ruling, he recalled, “The dad cried and hugged me and put his daughter in his car and went home with her, just like he was supposed to.”. Andy Miller says he approaches divorce and family law cases differently than many other lawyers. “Too many attorneys in this field believe that the best way to represent their clients is by putting gas on the fire. I think my clients are better served and can achieve more when we put the fires out.”. He prefers to take a conciliatory approach, seeking to build from common ground to achieve his clients’ objectives through negotiation whenever possible. But if that doesn’t work, he’s ready to battle it out in the courtroom. “I won’t pick the fight,” he says. “But if the fight’s brought to me, the gloves come off.”. Andy Miller is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Massachusetts School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Massachusetts. He is an avid runner and enjoys spending his free time canoeing and hiking with his wife and son.

Amanda is results oriented, always striving to get her clients a durable agreement whenever possible.. Amanda currently serves as a peer mentor at the Justice Bridge Legal Center, a nonprofit organization which focuses on providing affordable legal services and access to justice for those not otherwise served by the overtaxed legal aid system.
