My web site describes this focus in more detail: . I was inspired to practice law by our family lawyer who had a personal and business relationship with my family. It was the relationship aspect that appealed to me. When I started my practice in 1986 in California, my focus was on mergers & acquisitions - mostly representing private companies that were acquired by public companies. When I moved to the Boston area in 1994, I got involved with the whole start-up tech company scene, lots of business formation, venture capital financing and fast growing companies. Since the bubble burst, I have re-oriented my practice closer to its origins - focusing on business purchase and sale, internal business succession to junior employees and internal succession among existing owners.
