Defending criminal cases takes skill, advocacy, dedication and ingenuity. I have tried cases ranging from complex murder cases to resisting arrest. And I am successful at it. Trying cases successfully comes from honing your skills. When I was a prosecutor, I tried more cases to verdict than any other prosecutor in the state. It was invaluable experience - I know what prosecutors know and I know how to challenge and defend against them.

I retired from the Army in 2009 after a great 20 year career. I finished up my Bachelors degree in Business Management at Kansas State University (I discovered that I hated business management! But I also discovered a fascination with law). I was steered to a pre-law program while attending K-State and I had the honor and pleasure of volunteering at an organization called the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA is an organization dedicated to furthering children's welfare through investigation and court reporting. While working for CASA, I met some great people and helped a young man by sharing his wishes and goals with the court as well as spending time with him. I was fortunate enough to get into Northeastern University's School of Law and I earned my Juris Doctorate in May 2014 with a focus on Family Law, Juvenile Law (delinquency defense and special education), and Criminal Law. While attending NUSL, I had the distinct pleasure of working for a Juvenile Court judge in Lowell Mass., the Children's Law Center of Massachusetts, 2 great family law attorneys in Salem Mass., and the Committee for Public Counsel Services in the Youth Advocacy Department in Salem Mass (Juvenile public defenders office). I want to thank all of them publicly but I will ask permission to post names first, they were the best part of my law school education (though I did have outstanding professors as well). I passed the bar exam in July 2014 and I swore in as a new lawyer in Massachusetts on November 25, 2014. On January 4, 2015, I opened up the Law Office of Jeremy Sears.
