Joe was raised on his family's ranch just east of Billings and attended school in Shepherd. He was an active member of 4-H, FFA, Montana Junior Angus Association, and numerous sports teams. Joe played for the Rocky Mountain College men's basketball team and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree, with honors, in Business Administration/Management and Economics in 2005. Torrance was born in Spokane, and raised in Spokane, Washington and Punta Gorda, Florida, graduating from Charlotte High School in 1995.
