I'm a trial lawyer with a long background in Nevada law and I've fought for justice for my clients in Nevada courts for more than 36 years.. I have an extensive background in serious injury cases and I've handled many wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases in my career working on behalf of Nevada injury victims.. Klearman & Associates, a civil litigation law firm located in Reno, Nevada, and I practice primarily in the area of injury law. I've handled more than 2000 injury cases and my firm is constantly involved in fighting out cases within the Nevada court system.. I was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. I studied as a fellowship student of Mandarin Chinese in Taipei, Taiwan (and got to live in Taipei for more than a year) before I earned my B.A.,magna cum laude, from the University of Missouri.. Then I studied international law at the University of Notre Dame’s Concannon Programme of International Law in London (and lived in London for more than a year) before I received my J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.. I completed Harvard Law School’s mediator training course in 2000. I was subsequently appointed as a mediator in the United States District Court, District for Nevada. I am also a court-appointed arbitrator in the Washoe County District Court system and regularly hear cases and make decisions with jurisdiction up to $50, plus fees and costs.. My articles on various aspects of law have appeared in publications both in the U.S. and abroad, including The Nevada Lawyer and The Federal Bar News and Journal. My first Nevada legal guide, Elements of Nevada Legal Theories (now in its 15h Anniversary Fourth Edition), is considered by many to be a definitive guide to Nevada law; it is widely used by Nevada judges and attorneys. I've also published three other legal guides: Nevada Statutes of Limitation, Nevada Evidence Law, and Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure.. I've been an active member of the State Bar since I became licensed. I've served as Vice-Chair of the Nevada State Bar’s Northern Nevada Disciplinary Board and I was a member, for many years, of Nevada’s Medical Screening Panel and Nevada’s Revised Jury Instruction Committee. I was also the long-time Chair of the Nevada State Bar’s Consumer Protection Committee.. Nevada's my home and I'm happy to be here. I was admitted to the Nevada Bar in 1992 . I am admitted to practice in all courts in the State of Nevada I am admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Nevada (Federal Court), The United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Shortly after I moved to Las Vegas I met and married my wife Cheryl Karen. We have three children. We are very involved in the Las Vegas Jewish Community. I graduated from San Gorgonio High School. In addition to being a full time attorney I am a part time District Court Judge (pro tempore) since 2007. That means that I preside as a judge over civil cases worth up to $50,. I have presided over several jury trials and bench trials. I have been a traffic court referee for Las Vegas Justice Court. I have presided over the Justice Court traffic sessions for attorneys. I have also been a small claims court Judge from 2005-2012. I am also a District Court Arbitrator. I am an attorney member of the Union Privilege Legal Services Plan. I am pleased to announce that I have represented Union Members for over 20 years. To get on this plan I had to be nominated by a local union and voted on by the union members every year. I identify with working people. I worked my way thru school and was a member of the Teamsters Union when I worked in a pipe manufacturing plant during the summer break from college. I have handled all kinds of serious cases from amputation injuries to wrongful death . I enjoy challenges and I am willing to go to trial when needed. I enjoy helping people.
