I also have significant experience prosecuting, protecting and licensing copyrights and trademarks and conducting rights clearances and related due diligence for a variety of entertainment properties, including, catalogs of recorded music, motion pictures, television programs, books and websites.. Prior to practicing law, I served as Artist and Repertoire Director at Guidance Recordings, a Chicago based record label and music publishing company I co-founded in 1996.  During my eight years at Guidance, I signed numerous recording artists, established and maintained a global network of licensing and distribution partners and negotiated and drafted recording, remix,  music publishing, distribution, master use, synchronization, soundtrack and compilation license agreements.
