James McEleney was born and raised in the Hudson Valley. He was inspired to go into law after working with local legend D. James O’Neil, Esq. While attending law school, he worked with the Dutchess County Public Defender’s Office and Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. After gaining admission to the NY Bar, he worked for Brian McCaffrey in a busy law firm in Queens, NY. There he gained extensive litigation experience, making court appearances in every county  in New York City and Long Island.. Shortly after that he was offered a judicial clerkship in the U.S. Virgin Islands working with the Hon. Douglas A. Brady. There he assisted in the running of a busy court of general jurisdiction..
