Heather was born in Seoul, South Korea and adopted when she was four months old and grew up in Rensselaer County, NY. Because of this, Heather has always been very grateful for everything that she has and she knew that she wanted to help people. Heather spent several years after high school working in group homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities and mental illness. During this time Heather earned an Associate’s degree from Hudson Valley Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from The College of Saint Rose. She spent nearly 10 years working in group homes. Heather was unable to do advocate for the individuals as a group home worker and decided to go to law school to further work with and advocate for individuals with disabilities.. Heather began her career while in law school, working under a student practice order, representing individuals in criminal and family court proceedings. A family member tragically passed when Heather was in law school, which resulted in interests in personal injury law, slip and falls, and medical malpractice. Heather’s first job was as an insurance defense law firm where she could learn how insurance companies defend claims and authored several successful motions for summary judgment. Heather also worked for a firm representing individuals in family law, criminal law, and civil litigation.. Heather returned to her roots and began practicing Social Security disability law in April of 2019 and loved helping clients receive Social Security disability and Supplemental Security Income benefits.. Heather has a great love for dogs and enjoys spending time with her Lhasa apso Bruce. Heather also has a passion for rock and metal concerts and festivals. She is a member of the Albany County Bar Association.
