Irene Angelakis is a dedicated and experienced matrimonial and family law attorney. She has presented on topics including custody, visitation, ethics, confidentiality, basics of a matrimonial case, domestic violence and the role of the attorney for the child. In addition to presenting at various academic institutions, she has presented continuing legal education courses to colleagues such as “Ethical Considerations in Family Law Cases,” “Traumatic Exposure,” and “The Role of the Attorney for the Child.” From 2010 through 2014, she was an active member of several court based committees including the Family Court Domestic Violence Working Group, Child Protective Working Group, and the Disproportionate Minority Representation Working Group.. Currently, Ms. Angelakis is member of the Nassau BAR Association, Hellenic Lawyers Association, Nassau County Women's Bar Association and American Bar Association, Family Law Section. Since June of 2015, she has been the recording Secretary of the Nassau County Women's Bar Association, as well as the Co-Chair of the Solo-Practitioner and Small Firm Committee for the Nassau County Women's Bar Association.  Ms. Angelakis serves as an Arbitrator for the Nassau County Fee Dispute Resolution Program as well as a Pro Bono Attorney for the Safe Center representing victims of Domestic Violence..
