Throughout his legal career, Attorney Grimm has focused on civil litigation, primarily in the areas of personal injury and medical malpractice.. “I wanted a career where what I did would make a difference in people’s lives,” he says. “Being a lawyer allows me to help improve safety and health care for the public while at the same time helping individuals and their families who were injured and in need of help.”. Attorney Grimm has successfully litigated numerous civil cases, obtaining multiple million dollar recoveries on behalf of several clients. He is the author of the chapter “Creating a Discovery Plan” in the professional reference book A Practical Guide to Discovery and Depositions in Rhode Island (2010).. “In general, I help people who through no fault of their own, have suffered injuries and losses that disrupt and sometimes profoundly change their lives,” he says. “I work to provide compensation to those who were injured and, at the same time, make sure the persons who were careless and caused these losses are held accountable for their actions.”. A native of Dewitt, New York, Attorney Grimm graduated with honors from Brown University and from Boston College School of Law. Attorney Grimm has also served as an Adjunct Professor at Roger Williams University School of Law.. “My parents taught me to empathize and be aware of how other people feel and to try to see things from other people’s perspective, not just my own,” he says. “I think this helps in evaluating not only my own client’s case, but also the position of my adversary and the defendant.”. Attorney Grimm said in his experience, a successful legal claim cannot restore someone’s health or make right the loss of a loved one, but can bring much needed assistance and make a difference in improving lives.. He said the attorneys at Marasco & Nesselbush genuinely care about their clients and work hard to take care of clients first and foremost.. He is admitted to the practice of law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, the United States District Court, and the United States Court of Appeals. Firm: Murphy & Fay LLP
Practice Areas: Personal Injury
Hi. I’m Mark Fay. I’m a partner with the law firm Murphy and Fay. I have been a partner here for the last 14 years. I have been a practicing attorney for 25 years, all in civil litigation, all in trial work, all in either representing or defending individuals and personal injury cases. One of the benefits that I have in my trial background is that from my first 11 years of practice, I represented insurance companies. I was representing the defendants. I was the person that was helping the insurance companies to determine which cases will not go to a trial, which ones going to a trial, who’s gonna get how much money and how soon. I know how the defense side works, believe me because I was in it for 11 years. For the last 14 years, I’ve done all plaintiff’s work which means now I’m representing all the individuals that were injured. The insurance companies know me. They know I can try cases. They know I can evaluate cases and they know if they decide to go up against me in a trial, that I’m gonna do a good job. How does this help you? This helps you because part of the evaluation any insurance company makes in regarding how much they’re gonna pay on a case is whether or not the attorney is gonna do a good job at trial. I know because I made that decision for 11 years. If a plaintiff’s attorney can do a good job at trial, the insurance companies are more likely to pay you the maximum amount of settlement as possible to avoid a worst result during trial. If they know the plaintiff’s attorney has no trial experience or little trial experience or is not willing to go to trial, if the case is worth 50 then they’ll offer him 25. If it’s worth a hundred, then they’ll offer him 50. That’s a very important component. I have that. I have that trial experience. I have the insurance defense background. I can help you.
