I grew up in Austin, Texas and graduated from the University of Texas and then Texas Tech Law School.. I practice primarily in the areas of civil litigation and family law, with an emphasis on appellate issues in both areas. I also devote a portion of my practice to probate matters. My probate practice encompasses most areas of estate and trust administration, representing executors, trustees, heirs and beneficiaries in contested and uncontested matters.. Attorneys consult with me on civil litigation and family law cases regarding issues requiring particularized attention both at the trial court and appellate levels. This gives me a unique perspective that benefits both my litigation and appellate clients.. I help trial counsel focus on other areas of litigation by assisting them with legal issues, briefing, and positioning cases for successful appeals. This includes partnering with trial counsel before filing lawsuits and assisting throughout the litigation. I also assist individual parties with appealing judgments. My appellate experience spans from personal injury to family-law appeals.. Among other things, I represent appellate clients throughout Texas. My practice involves handling dispositive motions, post-verdict and post-judgment motions, mandamus proceedings, interlocutory appeals, and regular appeals. I also assist with jury charges and appealing default judgments.
