She graduated from Vermont Law School in May of 2011 with a JD and Masters of Environmental Law and Policy. At Vermont Law School, Lisa worked on the Carbon Reduction Task Force and Campus Greening Committee to propose and implement Vermont Law School’s first “Carbon Reduction Plan.” Lisa has written memoranda on Alaska’s legal framework of oil and gas development as well as their predator control program while working at Trustee’s for Alaska as an environmental law intern. In addition, Lisa worked as a law intern with the New Zealand Ministry of Fisheries Legal and Prosecution Office to reform new Zealand’s aquaculture and foreshore and seabed legislation. After working in New Zealand, Lisa commercially seined salmon out of Valdez, Alaska. At Vermont Law, Lisa worked as a VLS Ambassador, Teaching Assistant to the Environmental Legal Research & Writing course, and Research Associate for the Institute for Energy and the Environment primarily working on agricultural energy efficiency and outreach as well as Arctic oil and gas development.. In 2007, Lisa graduated from Michigan State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in Environmental Science and Management as well as Fisheries and Wildlife with minors in Environmental Economics and Policy and Science, Technology and Environmental Public Policy. As an undergraduate at Michigan State, Lisa participated in a study abroad program, where she traveled to Ushuaia, Argentina, Antarctic Peninsula and Antarctica researching the science, policy, and history of the area.
