John was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina. He is a graduate of Bishop England High School and of Furman University, where he received his Bachelor's in History and Spanish. While at Furman, and upon graduation, he was afforded the opportunity to travel and live abroad in Spain, Bolivia and Argentina. It was there that he developed his ability to fluently speak Spanish, a skill that he utilizes today in his practice.. John's practice is a general one handling a wide variety of matters in Probate, Social Security Disability, Worker's Compensation, Criminal Matters in all Courts of South Carolina. His experience and practice in Civil matters ranges from Contract disputes, Worker's Compensation, Car Wrecks, and Premises Liability cases. He is experienced in a wide range of Criminal Matters from Magistrates/Municipal Courts, DUI's, Aggravated Felonies in State General Sessions Court and criminal matters in Federal Court . He has tried cases to verdict in front of juries in the Courts of Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties.. John is a current member and a past Board Member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is a Panel Member of the Federal Court's Criminal Justice Act appointment list, handling Federal Criminal matters. Currently he is an Associate Judge for the City of North Charleston Municipal Court.. John is admitted to practice in all Court's of this State. He is also admitted to the District Court of South Carolina and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
