Randy continues to serve in the Reserve Component of the Navy JAG Corps, currently serving in the rank of Captain. In May 2008, Randy was recalled to active duty in support of the Global War on Terror for forward deployment to Iraq. Randy served as the Officer-in-Charge of the Detainee Legal Operations Center at Forward Operating Base Camp Buca, Iraq, which held more than 18,000 enemy combatants removed from the battlefield. He supervised a joint office of more than 50 personnel from the Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine Corps.
