As a merit scholarship recipient, Ms. Mitchell excelled academically earning placement on the Dean’s List every semester, named Articles Editor of Law Review, and participated in Moot Court as both a competitor and coach. Ms. Mitchell was site coordinator for the Volunteer Income Taxpayer Assistance (VITA) Site and ensured all personal and business tax returns were prepared correctly and according to IRS guidelines. She graduated Cum Laude and with a Graduate Certificate in Taxation.. With the desire to specialize in the legally complex area of Taxation, Ms. Mitchell then attended one of the nation’s most prestigious tax programs at the University of Florida Levin College of Law Graduate Tax Program, where she earned her Masters of Law in Taxation (LL.M), an additional year of post-law school course work that focused specifically on tax related courses and issues, including such topics as estate planning and taxation, international tax, corporate tax, entity formation, and the taxation of gifts..
