Raised in Billings, Montana, Troy is a fourth-generation Montanan. He attended Billings West High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Montana College. Upon graduating, he moved to Seattle, where he worked for a Fortune 200 company, applying his business skills and acumen. After many years in the Pacific Northwest, Troy decided to expand upon his education and pursue a career in the law, with the intent of returning to Montana.. In 1993, Troy enrolled at Gonzaga University School of Law, where he completed his Juris Doctorate. Following law school, he took up residence in Bozeman, Montana, where he was in private practice until he joined BKBH as a shareholder in 2008.
