Avvo is the last place you should look for an attorney. Attorneys can pay for additional promotion so you are more likely to find their page. Avvo also allows "client" reviews. However, Avvo refuses to remove false and defamatory reviews, as well as anonymous reviews that don’t include enough information to make an appropriate response. This is unfortunate. They also don’t offer an opt out option, so here you will find my firm information whether I want it here or not. Certainly if the accusations of the two negative reviews were true the disciplinary body governing attorneys would have been interested.. Avvo doesn't do a good enough job of making that clear. Why should they?  They would rather I pay them to promote my profile. It is all about the money. Avvo also shouldn’t continue to publish defamatory statements, but they know that most attorneys don't have the time or money to engage in personal litigation. So remember these things when you are weighing the credibility of the reviews and the “service” provided by Avvo.. Thanks!
