Paul also has an active False Claims Act practice representing whistleblower qui tam relators in actions to recover money fraudulently taken from the Federal government. Paul’s first whistleblower case was in 1999 as counsel for a defendant when he worked at a large national law firm. Now, Paul’s False Claims Act practice is limited to representing whistleblower plaintiffs. His cases have involved healthcare fraud, oil and gas fraud and fraudulent procurement cases. Recent successes include an $18 million settlement in a healthcare hospice fraud case in which Paul’s clients were awarded twenty (20%) percent of the settlement.
