Ben Riley has tried nearly 30 cases to verdict before juries, judges and arbitrators. He specializes in trade secret, patent, and other intellectual property issues, and also in commercial litigation including trust and estate litigation in which he has recovered approximately $20 million for charitable clients. He also has an active arbitration practice.. Ben co-led a 6-week securities class action trial, alleging $250 million in damages, and obtained a defense verdict. The Daily Journal cited the case as the largest defense jury trial victory for the year. He was awarded a California Lawyer of the Year award for his work leading a team of lawyers enforcing a trust for the Japanese-American women and girls of San Francisco against the YWCA.
