Earned an MBA (on scholarship) and law degree at Ohio State. Law review, moot court, and externship with a federal appellate judge while in law school. Clerked for a federal district court judge after law school.. Started practice as an appellate lawyer with focus on constitutional law. Later became a "lawyer's lawyer" when lawyers sought representation from me. I now practice mostly in the area of business law and litigation, including creditor representation in bankruptcy proceedings. I have extensive experience in pretrial and appellate litigation and, unlike many "litigators," also take cases to trial. My former employers include Pacific Legal Foundation, Jones, Day, and National Economic Research Associates.. I typically provide representation on an hourly basis. In appropriate cases I will provide representation for a fixed fee or on a contingency fee basis. Payment plans are available.. No-charge consultations are limited in scope. I will need basic contact information and need to know the nature of the caller's legal problem to determine whether this office can handle the matter or provide a referral. I will also need to know the identities of adverse parties to determine whether the office has any conflicts of interest. If there is a realistic possibility of providing representation, a futher consultation (telephonic, virtual, or in-person) may be arranged. Formal consultations may be available at a reduced hourly rate or flat rate for persons who need legal advice but are not ready to retain an attorney or do not qualify for representation.
