Douglas R. Ferguson received two B.S. majors in Business Finance and Business Marketing from the University of Utah in 1975. He received his J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1981, where he was the recipient of the University of Denver’s Award of Excellence in Securities Regulations. Doug’s practice emphasizes franchising; real estate and lending; securities; corporate, partnership, and limited liability company entities; and commercial and business law. He is the firm’s most experienced attorney in franchising law and provides counsel to several franchisors in both U.S. and international franchising matters. Doug is a member of the American Bar Association’s Forum Committee on Franchising and the Denver and Colorado Bar Associations, where he is a member of the Real Estate Law and Business Law Sections.  He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® for franchise law every year since 2011, Colorado Super Lawyers every year since 2011 and Top Lawyers of Colorado every year it has been awarded.  He is a presenter at the National Franchise Institute's Growth Strategies program discussions the pros and cons of operating as an independent buisness versus in a franchise system.
