Ms. Svetlana Schreiber was born in Romania. She came to the US when she was 12 years old and spent the next decade in New Jersey where she obtained her BA in comparative literature from Douglas College, New Brunswick, NJ in 1973 (where she was president of her class for two years).. She was admitted to a PhD program at Rutgers University which she commenced in 1973, but then marriage caused her to move to Ohio where she completed a MA degree in the same subject at Kent State University, where among other things, she taught a course in Romanian.. She attended John Marshall Law School at Cleveland State University and received a JDL in 1981. Melissa A. Gawelek is an experienced and compassionate immigration attorney. She graduated from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law in 2013 with a concentration in International and Comparative Law. Focusing her curriculum on immigration law, she participated in many hands-on learning opportunities during school. One of her favorite experiences was studying international human rights in Strasbourg, France where she was inspired by visits to the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights. Jason T.
