Sarah M. Allen is a partner at Pabian & Russell, LLC, concentrating her practice on estate, gift and charitable planning, as well as special needs planning. She also has extensive experience handling trust and estate administration matters including will contests, probate/trust administrations, trust/trustee disputes, guardianships and conservatorships.. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Allen was an associate at Taylor, Ganson & Perrin, LLP in Boston from 2008 through 2010. From 2004 to 2008 she was an associate and head of the estate planning department at Clark, Hunt & Embry in Cambridge.. Ms. Allen earned her Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law, where she served as editor of the Journal of Science and Technology Law. She also received a Bachelor of Science degree in broadcast journalism, summa cum laude, from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. Ms. Allen is currently pursuing an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University School of Law.. In 2009, 2011 and 2012, Ms. Allen was named to the Massachusetts Rising Stars list by New England Super Lawyers, a distinction limited to the top 2.5 percent of attorneys in Massachusetts. She regularly serves as a lecturer for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) on various estate planning and elder law topics and routinely hosts presentations on special needs planning, guardianships and conservatorships for various organizations throughout the state. In 2012, Ms. Allen was an adjunct professor for the Northeastern University Masters of Taxation Program where she taught estate and gift taxation. Ms. Allen is the Vice Chair of the Programs Committee for the Boston Estate Planning Council (BEPC) and serves as a member of the Leadership Development Committee for the same organization. She also serves on the Boston Foundation’s Professional Advisors Network. Ms. Allen is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association and the Trusts & Estates Consortium. She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
