Attorney Johnson is the Founder and Managing Attorney of The Johnson Firm, PA and has been representing clients in the Central Florida community for over a decade. Rosalind has made Central Florida her home and has developed an incredible heart for giving to and empowering those in need. Attorney Johnson is a US Army Veteran having served on active duty as both a Military Police Officer and a Paralegal in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. After attending Kansas State University where she majored in Sociology and Criminology, Rosalind earned her law degree from Florida State University College of Law where she received the Virgil Hawkins Memorial Fellowship (a full scholarship for all 3 years of attendance). Attorney Johnson has distinguished herself both personally and professionally. She was appointed by the former Chief Judge Belvin Perry as a General Magistrate and has presided over Residential Foreclosure cases in the Ninth Judicial Circuit Court in Orange County, Florida. She is a Fellow of Class IV of the highly competitive and prestigious Florida Bar Wm. Reece Smith, Jr Leadership Academy, an active member of the Orange County Bar Association where she serves as Co-Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee, and a member of the Annual Diversity Picnic Committee. Additionally, she serves on the Florida Bar’s Leadership Academy Committee, and was appointed by the Mayor of Orange County to serve on the Nuisance Abatement Board, where she has served as both Chair (2010-2011) and Vice-Chair (2009) and has served on the board since 2008. Her past service includes being a member of the Subcommittee of the Florida Supreme Court Committee on Justice Teaching, a former member of the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and being named the recipient of the Florida Supreme Court Pro Bono Service Award (2007). Attorney Johnson worked as an Assistant Public Defender prior to entering private practice in 2005, and she has a history of helping people through difficult times. Rosalind knows how to see the best in any given circumstance. Her giving nature has made her a catalyst for change in the community and with the people whom she engages. She has spent the last decade serving those who are traditionally underserved and overlooked. Although she is a busy attorney, mother of nine (7 biological and 2 stepchildren) and grandmother of four, she still finds time to devote to giving back to the community. Throughout her academic years and her career as an attorney, Rosalind has volunteered for various community organizations and is the Founder of two local nonprofits. This includes founding and running a local food pantry, diaper pantry and transitional housing program under the umbrella of BIG SIS, Inc a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to the empowerment and promotion of self-sufficiency in women, which Rosalind founded in 2008. Additionally, she is the founder of The L.A.B.B., a nonprofit organization that provides legal education and resources for low to moderate income residents of the community.
