Bret works closely with his clients to build a customized defense to get the best results possible in their case.  Bret represents clients in a wide variety of felony and misdemeanor cases, ranging from traffic matters such as reckless driving and DUIs to major felony charges such as possession of drugs, conspiracies, assault, fraud, and sexual battery. He practices throughout Northern Virginia, including Fairfax County, Herndon, Vienna, Fairfax City, Alexandria, Arlington, Loudoun and the U.S. District Court - Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria.. Bret's work has also involved extensive appellate brief writing and a vigorous motions practice, including motions to suppress evidence, motions for bond, motions for discovery, and other motions for relief in federal and state prosecutions.  Before going into private practice, Bret worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Chief Judge Watkins in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.  Bret is an active member of the bar of Virginia and of the District of Columbia.. Bret is a 2011 magna cum laude graduate of the George Mason University School of Law where he was the managing editor of the George Mason Law Review and served on the Moot Court Board.  He earned his undergraduate degree is from the College of William and Mary.  His home is in Vienna, Virginia, and and he is a longtime resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
