Dr. Fairborn is both a patent attorney and an eye doctor.  He earned his doctorate from one of the world's leading universities - the University of California, Berkeley in 1989. He also earned a bachelors degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a second bachelors degree from the California State University where he graduated with highest honors. With a dedication to life-long learning Dr. Fairborn later attended Texas Tech University as a Regents Scholar where he earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree with honors in 2000.. Dr. Fairborn is a member of the Center for Advanced Study & Research on Intellectual Property (CASRIP) at the University of Washington.  He has also been a member of the American Intellecutal Propertery Law Association (AIPLA).  In addition he is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and is registered to practice as an attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office..
