Jillian Caires is a native of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where she graduated from Lake City High School in 2004.  Jillian attended Washington State University, graduating in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. In 2010, Jillian began law school at Gonzaga University School of Law. Jillian earned her Juris Doctorate degree from Gonzaga in 2012, magna cum laude. In law school Jillian was a member of the Mugel National Tax Moot Court Team and the Gonzaga Journal of International Law; Jillian was awarded the top grade in Legal Research and Writing, Estate Planning, Community Property, Criminal Procedure, and Animal Law.. Following law school, Jillian served two years serving as law clerk to the Honorable Benjamin Simpson, District Judge, First Judicial District of the State of Idaho. During her clerkship Jillian had the opportunity to work on numerous complex civil and criminal matters.. In her free time Jillian enjoys running, gardening, and spending time outdoors with her family.  Jillian has completed over ten marathons and two Ironman triathlons. Together, she and her husband have explored many of the natural wonders of the West from the summits of Mt. Shasta and Half Dome to the floor of the Grand Canyon.
