At Virginia Tech, Rakin was a member of the Honor Society Gamma Beta Phi and served as the philanthropy chair of Delta Kappa Epsilon. Rakin has lived in Northern Virginia for the majority of his life and presently resides in Fairfax.. Outside of the office Rakin enjoys playing sports, especially basketball, and spending time with his family and friends.
