I joined the law firm of Patten, Wornom, Hatten and Diamonstein in 2010 as a lateral partner from another firm and have 20 yerars of exerpience practicing law. I have filed numerous False Claims Act (Whistleblower) cases in multiple federal courts and have also litigated a wide range of cases including commercial contract disputes, environmental matters, construction disputes, intellectual property, estate matters and personal injury cases. I have also handled numerous land use, zoning and riparian rights cases.  I have extensive experience in state and federal courts and has tried numerous jury trials.. In addition to being an attorney, I am also a registered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia and for two years was an Assistant Professor at the Batten College of Engineering and Technology at Old Dominion University.. With regard to my education, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech in 1989 and a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in environmental engineering from Old Dominion University in 1993. I graduated magna cum laude from Loyola School of Law in 1996. While at Loyola, I served as an editor on the Law Review.. I am also a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
