One of the firm's founders, Edward W. ("Sunny") Cameron started the firm in 2009 after spending nearly 21 years at a mid-size Northern Virginia firm where he was a partner and a longstanding member of the board of directors. Cameron/McEvoy was founded on the belief that a boutique litigation firm that handles complicated (and, sometimes, "bet the company") matters on an efficient and cost-effective manner, but without compromising on the quality of the legal services provided, could thrive in an increasingly competitive business climate. Now in its 7th year, the firm's success is bearing out that founding belief.. Sunny has a substantial practice with a broad base of clients that is devoted primarily to civil litigation in the state and federal courts. Sunny represents businesses and individuals in a wide range of complex matters, including commercial, construction, banking, real estate and employment disputes.. In addition to his extensive background in trial work, Sunny is highly experienced in the appellate arena in both the state and federal systems. He also has handled a significant number of matters through alternate dispute resolution (ADR) -- both mediation and arbitration.. Sunny is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is admitted to practice in all jurisdictions within Virginia. He also is routinely admitted to practice in jurisdictions beyond Virginia on a pro hac vice basis.
