Sara Shariff is a North Carolina native and earned her B.A., with a dual-major in Political Science and Global Studies and a minor in Arabic language, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.. While earning her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Sara became involved in various interest areas. Sara was a member of the Mock Trial team and competed at the South Texas Mock Trial Invitationnal and AAJ Student Trial Advocacy Competition. Sara was also a middle-school students' mentor in the Constitutional Scholars Mentorship program and a student attorney in the Special Education Advocacy Clinic, where she represented local, low-income students with special needs. She received the Dean's List recognition and was inducted into the Order of the Litigators while at USC Law.. Sara earned a certificate in Bioethics with a focus in Health and Policy Law from Yale University, where she received the Pollard Prize for best graduate level research presentation.. Throughout law school, Sara worked as a law clerk at a foreclosure defense litigation and real estate firm. After being admitted to practice by the N.C. Bar, Sara has worked as a removal and deportation defense attorney and civil litigator..
