Guillermo Lara Jr. will fight every case for a dismissal and a positive result. As an Assistant Public Defender handling hundreds of cases, Mr. Lara has realized that our Constitution is trampled on daily. Mr. Lara has made it his mission to make a difference and breathe a new life into defending against governmental encroachments. Mr. Lara understands that the criminal justice system is intimidating and anyone accused of a crime needs a true ally.. Mr. Lara received his Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.  Prior to attending Law School, Mr. Lara was a Research Assistant for the University of Texas Health Science Center where he performed research on DNA Analysis & Genotyping. Mr. Lara attended TEXAS WESLEYAN SCHOOL OF LAW in Fort Worth, Texas and TEXAS TECH SCHOOL OF LAW in Lubbock, Texas. While at Texas Tech, Mr. Lara received the Pro Bono Law Student Award for his commitment to assisting the Legal Aid of Northwest Texas.. During Law School, Mr. Lara took and passed the Patent Bar and clerked with Halliburton Energy Services. At Halliburton, Mr. Lara assisted with patent searches and provided feedback for Research & Design. Mr. Lara was Secretary of the Intellectual Property Law Society while at Texas Wesleyan School of Law.. Mr. Lara is licensed to practice with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and licensed by the  Supreme Court of Texas. Mr. Lara is a graduate of the Texas Criminal Trial College and is also a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the San Antonio Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
