Mary completed her undergraduate studies with Bachelors of Science in Biology, Chemistry and Nursing at St. Mary’s University and The University of the Incarnate Word, worked on her Masters in Neurosurgical Nursing and is a 1988 graduate of St. Mary’s School of Law. She has been licensed to practice in the Texas state courts and before the federal bar since 1989 and has served the practice of law in many capacities: as General Counsel to United Service Automobile Association, Staff Counsel to Liberty Mutual and SAFECO Insurance Companies and as a trial attorney in private practice. Mary is also a Registered Nurse and has been certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She was honored with the Vera Brau Award for Nursing Excellence and Advocacy. Mary concentrates her defense trial practice principally in the areas of complex litigation including contracts, commercial and personal injury litigation (1st and 3rd party), insurance coverage and regulatory issues, construction law, professional liability, corporate and health law.
