You need a safe place to go for answers where you won’t be personally judged.  If you are shopping for a lawyer, you may notice that many lawyer’s sites have pages of information about the law for you to sift through.  It is my belief that you are seeking a lawyer that will be able to explain the relevant law to your situation personally.  I do not find it helpful to produce pages of material for a potential client to click through in order to make myself look knowledgeable.   After 37 years of practice, I have found that providing a mountain of material to a client is likely to cause stress or even fear—producing thoughts such as:  Do I need to know this?  Is it applicable to my case?  I believe that is the lawyer’s job—not the client’s job!. My first goal in representing a client is working to break through the fear that is a natural reaction to criminal charges so that together we can build an effective and creative criminal defense.  I find that a fearful client is more likely to either: not do things necessary for their defense; or actually do something that makes the situation worse.  That is why I personally meet every client for a relaxed, thoughtful and informative free consultation.  It is also why I personally make every court appearance in your case.  I want my clients to feel comfortable and not have to experience the fear of an unknown associate suddenly appearing on the day of court..
