David Norman Bio
David Norman graduated magna cum laude from Seattle University School of Law in May of 2008, graduating within the top 5% of his class. He became a licensed attorney in Washington in October of the same year. He served as a Research and Technical Editor on the school's Law Review journal and was on the Dean's list from 2006-08. He also served as an extern in 2008 for the Honorable Judge Marsha Pechman, at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.. Beginning in September of 2008, David worked at Allied Law Group, LLC, a unique firm that focuses primarily on cases that involve enforcing statutory and constitutional open government and court provisions. Through David's work at Allied, he had the opportunity to write briefs in multiple appellate cases, including several at the Supreme Court level. While working at Allied, David had also been given the opportunity to author or co-author several CLE presentations, as well as serve as the co-editor and co-author of the WSBA's Public Records Act Deskook Supplement edition.. David joined Lee Smart P.S., Inc. as an associate attorney in November of 2010. Lee Smart is a Seattle-based law firm that focuses primarily in the area of civil defense, and is ranked by U.S. News and World Report as a top-tier law firm in a multitude of practice areas. At Lee Smart, David was able to continue working at the appellate level, authoring multiple briefs and motions. His primary area of practice was medical malpractice defense.. David joined Bennett Bigelow and Leedom, P.S. as a senior associate attorney in April of 2014. Bennett Bigelow and Leedom is a Seattle-based law ranked by U.S. News and World Report as a Best Law Firm in a multitude of practice areas. David's work at BBL focuses on medical malpractice litigation, related healthcare issues, and product liability actions.. David was selected as a "Rising Star" by Thomson Reuters's Superlawyer magazine in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. He was selected as a "SuperLawyer" in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.. David is licensed to practice in Washington, the Western and Eastern District Courts of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals at the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.. David's personal interests include reading, television, photography, and especially music. On any given weekend, David can usually be found at various musical venues near his residence on Capitol Hill in Seattle.
