Maureen was raised in Geneva, New York. At the end of her junior year in high school, she enrolled in the early admissions program at a nearby community college. After graduation, she took a seven-year hiatus to begin a family. In 1983, the untimely death of a childhood friend inspired her to return to college. “What was planned to be a two-year commitment turned into a seven-year adventure. I enrolled in an Introduction to Law course and was hooked. I attended school during the day and worked fulltime nights and weekends. As a single parent, I wanted to set an example for my son that through hard work and perseverance, dreams do come true.”.
