I graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelors degree in History and a minor in Legal Studies. I then went on to study law at the Wake Forest University School of Law. I graduated in 2012 and was licensed to practice law in Maryland in 2012. I currently reside in Annapolis and enjoy exploring all that Maryland has to offer.

While attending law school in the evening, I worked full-time as a Parole and Probation Agent for the State of Maryland. Prior to that, I worked in Connecticut as a polygraph examiner for convicted sex offenders. In addition to an extensive background in criminal justice, I have a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of New Haven, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice.. I have over ten years of experience in the criminal justice field, therefore I am skilled in navigating extremely tense and highly emotional situations. I strive to deescalate even the highest conflict cases, while strongly advocating for my client.. I am a Supervising County Attorney for Anne Arundel County, Maryland. I supervise the Litigation Unit which represents the County government and its employees in a most legal proceedings before state and federal courts. I am a former prosecutor for the Anne Arundel County State’s Attorney’s Office.  During my time in this position, I prosecuted felony burglary before moving to the Violent Crimes Trial Team, where I prosecuted high profile violent crimes including murders, attempted murders, carjackings, armed robberies and felony assaults.  Throughout my career, I trained Anne Arundel County and Annapolis City police officers on various criminal law issues.  I was also an adjunct professor at Anne Arundel Community College where I taught Cyberlaw.

While on active duty in the Navy, I attended law school at night, graduating with a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude (third in my class) in 1978. I retired from the Naval Reserve as a Commander in 1991.
