Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Cabana served as a judicial law clerk in the chambers of the honorable Eric G. Bruggink, United States Court of Federal Claims.

I am an experienced state and federal litigator, successfully representing both plaintiffs and defendants in civil and criminal cases in Virginia.

I have lived in Alexandria, VA and practiced law for over 40 years. I  concentrate on estate planning, business and commercial law.  I have been fortunate to have a full life outside of my law practice:  I am married to Marcia Call and have four adult children.  For many years, I was active in politics and, during the 90's, served on the Alexandria City Council for three terms (9 years).  I have also served as Chair of the Board of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, The Campagna Center. Alexandria Democratic Party and Commonwealth Baptist Church, as well as President of the Del Ray Citizens Association. I enjoy studying history, vocabulary words and poetry.

I am a former Senior Trial Attorney  (GS 15) at the Narcotics Section, Criminal Division, US Department of Justice, and retired Army JAG officer (Lieutenant Colonel).  In addition to graduating from Law School at the University of Virginia with a Juris Doctor degree, I have an LL.M. in criminal law from George Washington University.  I have over 47 years of experience litigating criminal cases as both a prosecutor and a defense counsel.  I once won three consecutive murder cases in the Alexandria federal court. I have been in private practice defending individuals since 1986. I lived in Japan and Hawaii for 3 years each, and have visited over 40 foreign countries, so I can easily relate to a wide variety of people..
