I use the skills I honed though years of work as a litigator to help individuals and businesses obtain and protect their interests. I grew up in Western North Carolina, and after college and law school commissioned in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate. There I began by helping Active Duty military and retirees deal with legal issues ranging from estate planning to landlord-tenant issues. However, due to my skills as a trial attorney, I was ultimately selected to become the lead prosecutor at the installation. After two years, I was selected to become 1 of only 82 defense attorneys in the Air Force. In that job, I was hand-selected for the toughest cases, defending military members in jury trials across the world and even going into Afghanistan during combat operations to defend Airmen at courts-martial. Rated one of the top defense attorneys in Europe, I was then selected to become one of only a few senior prosecutors in the military. However, I declined the offer because I wanted to take my passion for service and skills as an attorney to serve the people of my home in Western North Carolina. Now, at McGuire, Wood & Bissette, I serve with attorneys who share that passion, and collaborate to ensure each client receives the absolute best representation.

I am a litigation attorney with more than 20 years' experience. I am licensed in Washington, Hawaii and North Carolina. Recently, I have relocated to the Asheville, North Carolina area, and I am a litigation attorney with the firm Allen Stahl & Kilbourne, PLLC. Too often in legal matters, common sense and compassion are missing. After practicing law for more than 20 years, I have developed exemplary skills as an attorney; however, I always bring common sense and compassion to the table with regard to my clients' situations.. I was raised in Southeast Asia as the dependent of a CIA field officer. Shortly after returning to the United States, I attended Vassar College and graduated with a dual degree in Old and Middle English and Music, with a minor in Physics. I worked in New York City for several years, performing research related to the Stock Exchange, for Smith Barney. I was raising my three young brothers at the time, and we eventually moved to Hawaii where I lived for 13 years. There, I attended the William S. Richardson School of Law to obtain my J.D., graduating second in my class. I was invited and participated in law review, while continuing to compete in moot court competitions. I always had a strong interest in litigation and advocacy, and during law school I participated in moot court competitions around the country. I also participated as an editor on law review. My husband and I left Hawaii in 2002, to settle in the Seattle area. I started at a large Seattle firm, but find I do my best work in a smaller firm environment, where my focus can be on the client and getting results. I established my own firm so that I could offer my clients even more flexibility and where I could be available directly to them. I have now joined an up-and-coming firm of talented litigators in Asheville, North Carolina.. My practice is devoted to civil litigation with a focus on real estate, construction law, municipal law and appellate practice. However, I have experience handling a wide variety of civil cases, including employment law, property damage claims, contract disputes and land use issues. In the age of the COVID-19 virus, I offer zoom meetings and remote conferencing so that there is no risk to my clients' health and safety.. I am licensed and in good standing in Washington, North Carolina and Hawaii. For more than twenty-two years I worked as a prosecutor, first for the state of North Carolina and then as an Assistant United States Attorney. But I needed a change. My soul needed a change.. I founded The Pritchard Firm at the onset of 2024 because I wanted to quit work for the government and start working for people. I understand that you may be facing one of the most scary moments of your life if you are charged with a crime. It could be a speeding ticket or it could be murder--everyone has a different level of comfort and fear when dealing with the criminal justice system.. I want to help you through that. I'll do my best to both explain the legal system and your situation to you and then to represent you to the best of my ability. Sometimes that may mean we fight it every step of the way. Sometimes that may mean I do everything in my power to make this as least painful for you as possible. But always, I will be considerate of you and your circumstance as we navigate the waters together.
