Kate’s behind the scenes experience has been invaluable in providing her with insight on nursing home and other civil litigation cases that most lawyers do not have. She worked as a staff attorney for Fulton County Superior Court Judge Jack Goger. This enabled her to learn the Court’s perspective regarding hundreds of different cases, including nursing home abuse, car accidents, medical malpractice, trucking accidents any many more, from the initial discovery stages through jury trial. She was also formally trained as a mediator while working for the Court.. After Kate completed her clerkship with Judge Goger, she worked for one of Atlanta’s top civil litigation defense firms, Carlock, Copeland & Stair, where she was made partner after building a successful nursing home practice. While at Carlock, Kate worked for many major insurance companies defending cases focusing on nursing home abuse, medical malpractice, and motor vehicle accidents.
