Since passing the bar, Jason continues his involvement with the Austin Bar Association, Williamson County Bar Association, and the Texas Family Law Section of the State Bar.Jason is also very active in Scouting. Jason is an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor, and Silver Beaver recipient who has served in almost every leadership role throughout his Scouting career. In addition to serving as an Executive Board Member, Jason currently Jason serves as the Chairman for the Longhorn Council Aquatic School Committee where he oversees and directs a week-long leadership/instructor & lifeguard program for Scouts ages 13-17.Jason also donates his time and legal knowledge to assist The Volunteer Legal Services of Travis County by running a pro-bono divorce clinic for low-income families. Because of his efforts, Jason was named a Judge Susan Covington Pro-Bono Award Honoree from 2016-2018 and is also a member of Pro Bono College of the State Bar of Texas.When he’s not volunteering or working, Jason enjoys playing golf and racquetball as well as spending time with his beautiful wife and two children.
Jason Snell came to establish his own law practice via a rather circuitous route.. Jason graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication. His minor area of interest was Business Communication. During his undergraduate studies, Jason reported for the school newspaper and held various leadership positions on campus, including president of both his graduating class and fraternity.. Jason also distinguished himself academically during his undergraduate studies by consistently being named to the President's and Dean's List. After college, Jason worked as a laborer in the construction industry in petrochemical refineries in the Port Arthur Area, and taught school at his alma mater, Port Neches-Groves High School, in Port Neches, Texas.. In 1996, Jason began law school at Texas Tech School of Law in Lubbock, Texas. During law school, Jason won the American Jurisprudence Award for academic excellence and was initiated into the honorary legal fraternity Phi Delta Phi (top 25% of class).. Jason then left Texas and traveled extensively in Europe. While in Europe, Jason studied comparative law, land transactions, and transactions in goods at the prestigious The Queen's College, Oxford University, in England. Jason returned to Texas and in 1999 graduated cum laude with a law degree from Texas Tech School of Law.. In 1999, Jason was awarded his attorney's license in Texas and began the practice of law as an associate at Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, LLP in Dallas, Texas. At Thompson Coe, Jason's primary area of practice was civil litigation and the defense of insureds and insurance companies in cases involving personal injury.. After practicing for several years in Dallas, Jason moved to New York City where he was awarded his attorney's license in 2003. While in New York City, in probably the toughest, most adversarial legal environment in the country, Jason continued to practice civil litigation, defending against personal injury lawsuits on behalf of insureds and insurance companies. Jason also began his construction practice while in New York City, representing owners, developers, construction managers, contractors, and design professionals on large-scale construction projects.. In 2007, Jason returned to his native Texas to establish his own law firm, The Snell Law Firm, PLLC.. When away from work, Jason enjoys spending time with his family, running, hiking in the Hill Country, traveling, and visiting his home in Marfa, Texas.
Jason is an attorney focusing on representing plaintiffs who have suffered personal injury. During law school and prior to joining Zinda Law Group, Jason gained litigation experience during internships with the North Las Vegas City Attorney’s Office, the Travis County District Attorney, and as an attorney representing the public interest at the Public Utility Commission of Texas.. Jason has always had a strong desire to represent those that need help the most and to fight for his clients. Jason had a varied background before entering the legal profession including stints as a golf professional, Army medic and casino pit boss to name a few. Jason along with his wife Melissa and daughter Riley, moved to Austin from Las Vegas because it is the best city in the country to raise a family. Jason attended UNLV for undergrad and law school while working full time as a pit boss in a major Las Vegas casino.
