My areas of practices are listed above.  I provide representation for both plaintiffs and defendants in all such actions.  My focus is on helping people in difficult situations and trying to find a way to resolve issues before the become legal problems when possible.  As such, I never charge for my first consultation with a client because it isn't fair for me to charge you if I don't even know if I can help you yet.. I practice in all the state and federal courts of Texas, Arkansas, and Tennessee.  I specifically practice in the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Districts of Texas; the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas; and the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Tennessee.  In addition, I practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Circuits.  During the course of my working life, I have negotiated millions of dolars in settlements and other contracted business by finding ways to resolve difficult cases without the need for unnecessary litigation.. My clients are always my top priority in every representation.  I know how to get business done and bring that ability to every case I work.

Megan is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and Baylor Law School. She is board certified in criminal law and criminal appellate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. In addition to her Texas license, Megan is admitted to practice in all federal district courts in the Western District of Texas.. Before moving to Austin, Megan cut her teeth as a trial and appellate attorney in Granbury, Texas, a small town outside of Fort Worth. Working in a rural community allowed Megan the opportunity to try a wide variety of criminal cases. After a case finished at the trial court, Megan was often asked to handle the matter on appeal. As a result, she has served as lead counsel in over 50 criminal appeals and argued before the court of appeals on numerous occasions. Many of Megan’s arguments have been adopted by the appellate courts and are now law.. In sum, Megan understands the entire criminal justice system, from trial to appeal, and her direct and comprehensive style has won her the trust of clients and judges alike. She is passionate about giving her clients good advice, executing successful trial strategies, and persuading appellate courts to adopt new constitutional arguments.

Joe Webber is an experienced civil trial lawyer who represents both plainitiffs and defendants in state and federal courts.  He is a graduate of Texas A&M University (B.A.) and the University of Texas School of Law (J.D.).  He is licensed to practice before the Texas Supreme Court and all other Texas state courts.  He is also licensed to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas; the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals; and the United States Supreme Court.. Mr. Webber is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  At present there are over 100,000 attorneys licensed to practice in Texas; however, fewer than 1,000 Texas Attorneys (1%) are Board Certified in Civil Trial Law.. Joe Webber is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers and has an AV Preeminenet rating, the highest possible rating for both legal ability and ethical standards.. I was raised in a family of farmers. We farmed green chilies, watermelons, pumpkins, dairies and more. Growing up in a small farming community, my family taught me to work hard, and be fair. But if I were to pick the “golden rule” from my upbringing, it would be that we take care of our family, no matter what. Now that I am raising a family of my own, I understand why.. After graduating from Oklahoma State with an Animal Science degree, I moved back home to help my father start his dairy nutrition company. After several years of hard work, the company finally became successful. I then shifted my attention to law school, and somehow managed to score in the top 1% on the entrance exams. As a result, I was able to attend the University of Texas School of Law after being awarded the Dean’s Presidential Scholarship, for which I am forever grateful.

I help startups and small to medium sized businesses set themselves up for success. My clients get counsel on enacting best practices to avoid disputes and law suits, negotiating the best possible contracts -- even when dealing with a larger company or big corporate customer -- and navigating regulations and statutes to protect their assets and mission. In particular, I work with many small and family-owned construction subcontractors who enter large contracts with much larger general contractors and developers, and who often find themselves de-prioritized for payment.. When business relationships go south, I'm here to step in and help achieve a resolution that helps clients move upward and onward -- usually through negotiation, mediation, and a last resort, litigation. But my  goal is to maintain long-term relationships with my clients, supporting them along the way to make sure disputes are unlikely to happen at all. Courtney has exclusively practiced Family Law in Central Texas since becoming an attorney. She has represented clients in contested divorces, uncontested divorces, protective order hearings, child custody modifications, child support modifications, paternity actions, enforcements, and common law marriage cases. Courtney has also worked on a number of UIFSA and UCCJEA cases, or modifications of out-of-state custody and child support orders. Additionally, she has assisted with family law appeals and jury trial preparation.. Prior to opening her own firm, Courtney spent several years working for an established boutique family law firm in Austin. Before that, she was a certified law clerk directly representing survivors of domestic violence in family law cases through Bay Area Legal Aid and the King Hall Family Protection Clinic. She also gained valuable legal research and drafting experience with The Family Violence Appellate Project in Oakland, CA.

Born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, Emily earned her B.A. in Political Science from Trinity University in San Antonio.  After graduation, Emily worked in the public sector in Tucson, Arizona, where she coordinated a gun safety community outreach project and worked in a restorative justice program for juveniles.. In 2008, Emily moved back to Texas to attend St. Mary’s University School of Law.  While completing her law degree, Emily served as a staff writer and as a member of the editorial board of The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review on Minority Issues.  Her student comment, "Waiver, Certification, and Transfer of Juveniles to Adult Court: Limiting Transfer in Texas," was selected for publication in 2010.  She served as a student representative for the State Bar of Texas Law Student Division, a member of the Student Bar Association, and a legal research and writing teaching assistant for first-year students.  Emily was on the Dean's List and was the recipient of the Jackson Lewis Employment Law Scholarship and Dean’s Law Scholarship.  She was also the Best Brief Award Recipient in the First-year Moot Court Competition. Emily graduated from St. Mary's cum laude in 2011.  After graduation, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona and completed a one-year judicial clerkship at the Arizona Court of Appeals with the Honorable Maurice Portley.. Following the clerkship, Emily returned to Texas and began practicing law in Austin.  After working for a law firm specializing in foreclosure work, she joined Cain & Skarnulis as an associate in 2013, where her practice focused on business litigation, including real estate, construction law, employment law, and tort defense.  Emily opened her own law practice in 2015.. Emily loves Austin and enjoys practicing law, spending time with friends and family, and taking photographs.  In working with her clients, she strives to minimize the frustration and expense involved in legal disputes by providing efficient, responsive representation to each client from start to finish.
