After graduation from Loyola College (now Loyola University Baltimore), I went to work with the Social Security Admininstration as a Disability Claims Authorizer.  I  was subsequently promoted to positions as a Disability Claims Technical Assistant - and taught several incoming Disability Claims Authorization training classes - Disability Claims Examiner, and Disability Claims Supervisor.   After participating in a mid-management training program during which I worked in SSA's Office of General Counsel and attended law school in the evening, I passed the bar examination and decided to enter private practice.  Federal law required that I abstain from handling Social Security cases for one full year, and I began representing Social Security disability claimants in 1976.  I have been doing so ever since.  Due to my extensive training and experience in this area of practice, I have been able to successfully represent numerous claimants in pursuit of Social Security disability benefits under both the entitlement (SSDI) and public assistance (SSI) programs.  Many of my peers routinely refer cases to me, and I have been particularly successful in  handling their referrals at the federal court level.  It is particularly rewarding to be able to help people who are truly deserving of receiving help when they are legitimately disabled.
