I have worked my entire career in the Law. I was employed as a legal intern through my undergraduate degree at Johns Hopkins University. In this position, I worked for a large Baltimore, Maryland Law Firm in their Landlord Tenant and Collections division representing large landlord conglomerates and the largest bail bond company in the State of Maryland. I continued in this position until I was accepted to Law School where I received a Presidential Law Scholarship at Seattle University. Since entering Law School, I have been in and around the area of Family Law for several years. I began practicing in this area as a Rule 9 Intern with the Law Offices of Natalie de Maar. The Rule 9 Intern position provided me with a limited license to represent clients. After graduating Law School, I became an associate with Mrs. De Maar’s firm.. I strongly believe that you should understand why a lawyer concentrates their practice heavily on family law. I have done so primarily for two reasons. The first is a family law client is a uniquely vulnerable client. A family law client often finds himself or herself facing an unknown future. It can be emotional, frustrating, and exasperating. My goal is to assist my clients through this difficult time, and to help set a course forward toward financial and emotional stability. In other words, my goal is to help provide my clients and their children, a path forward. My second draw to family law is that I truly enjoy working with everyday people. As a result, I find that working with family law clients to be extremely rewarding and to be a fascinating area of the law.. I look forward to serving your Family Law needs.

I have been an attorney for over 35 years and have been serving the Seattle metropolitan area for over 20 years. I graduated from Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts with a B.A in history and later obtained my Juris Doctor from the University Of Maryland School of Law.. My legal career began with the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare as a lawyer representing the federal government in Black Lung suits. After a short time, I transitioned into representing the Welfare program in the Federal Court of Appeals. In my most cited case, Soberal-Perez v. Schweiker, I represented the Social Security Administration in a lawsuit over disability benefit notices being in languages other than English.. After I met my husband, we moved to Washington with our six children. I obtained a position with the Washington State Court of Appeals Division I as a staff attorney doing research and general support for the Court. I soon left the court in 1993 and pursued a career in the private sector with Culp, Guterson, and Grader and with Foster Pepper where I was of counsel. At Foster Pepper, I represented Eva Bandy in the nationally renowned case Bandy v. Bandy, dealing with wiretapping. After I left Foster Pepper in 1994, I decided to start my own firm, The Law Offices of Natalie de Maar.. My personal experience with divorce and raising my own children and step children has had a profound effect on my practice. I am a compassionate and skilled lawyer who is sensitive to my clients’ needs and tough in the courtroom. I work tirelessly to help my clients achieve a fair result, and help them through the difficult and emotional process of resolving disputes.. I have always been an entrepreneur. I had a lemonade stand at age 5, and by age 10 I started my own yard care business, Nicky's Lawnmowing Service. By middle school I was distributing a patented velcro product that my Uncle had made. In high school I helped manage the Student Store, joined the Marketing Club, and was President of Garfield High's chapter of DECA, an international business organization for students. I went on to major in Economics at Columbia University, and then returned to Seattle for law school and to be with my family. I graduated from UW Law with a juris doctor as well as a Masters of Laws in Taxation. In law school, I quickly discovered that it was unusual for a law student to enjoy working in Excel and manipulating numbers. I got hooked on business and tax classes.. I really enjoy running a small business - our law firm. I get to talk with clients every day and understand their legal needs. I also love technology and the way it is helping lawyers deliver legal services faster and better. I would love the opportunity to talk to you about the challenges you face and how I could help.. Seattle has been my home for nearly 3 decades. I love the seasons in Seattle, especially winter. My law partner (also my father) and I curl together at the Granite Curling Club in North Seattle. I also love to snowboard, usually at Steven's Pass. And I enjoy hiking and snowshoeing on Mt. Rainier. I know there are a lot of newcomers to Seattle as technology has created tremendous job growth, and I hope we can all adjust as Puget Sound becomes a Region of Boom.
I am a Pacific Northwest native. I graduated from the University of Washington in 1983 and the University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco in 1986. Upon graduation, I decided I wanted to serve the people with whom I grew up, so I moved back to the Seattle area and began a general law practice which provided a variety of legal services such as family law, estate planning, small business consulting, and workers’ compensation. However, I soon realized that the work I found most compelling was representing the injured, who were often in desperate need of assistance to rebuild their lives after suffering a career or life-altering injury.. In 1990, I changed my practice to solely represent the injured. The firm I founded has now grown to include three attorneys and 15 paralegals and office staff. Eight members of my team are also bilingual in Spanish. Our firm provides legal services to clients who have suffered injuries, either in an auto accident or other personal injury, or while on the job. We also now offer services to help people with social security disability benefits.. My background has left me with progressive values and a desire to ensure my firm does its part to promote diversity and social equity. Lehmbecker Law is a leader in Washington State, equally serving all members of our diverse community and we would love to help you, too.

Filing bankruptcy is something most people do not foresee themselves doing. It can be a difficult river to navigate. I have worked to hone my skills in providing the best experience in filing bankruptcy. I use to work for a law firm that spanned all 50 states. I then worked for a small local firm. That experience took me to work for the Office of the Chapter 13 Trustee. Through all my experiences and my clients stories that they shared, it's allowed me to gain new insight on the bankruptcy process and how it affects others. Using those experiences, i'm able to convey more information and knowledge that people are interested in knowing (and that is often not found on the internet). This allows my clients to think of their future without their debt, rather than worry about the small nuances within the bankruptcy code. Let me help you. Contacting me will be the hardest and easist step to take.
Even prior to becoming an attorney, Erica learned to appreciate the complexities and opportunities involved in family legacy planning. Motivated by her pre-law-school professional work in business and in elder law, and inspired by her personal experiences, Erica set out to tailor her legal studies and career by focusing on estate planning and trust administration. As a result, Erica enjoys helping clients to evaluate their options and develop an estate plan to fit their specific circumstances and, very importantly, guiding them through the steps necessary to implement a well-crafted plan.. Often family or close friends are asked to serve as executors, trustees, and in other important fiduciary roles. Through her own personal experience in helping her family through complex trust administration matters, Erica learned that serving as trustee can be intimidating. There are often unforeseen risks and challenges. Erica assists and advises individuals serving as trustees and in other fiduciary roles to ensure the smooth administration of trusts and estates. This extra effort not only protects all involved, but it is also vitally important to ensure that those careful plans achieve the intended results.
