Troy has been repeatedly described by others as a 'lawyers' lawyer.' This is likely because he loves being a lawyer. He loves helping individuals and businesses resolve challenges that they cannot or do not have the time to resolve on their own.. Troy started being exposed to the law while working on Capitol Hill for Senator James McClure in the mid-1980s. He worked in the areas of commerce and foreign affairs. He then went to law school at the University of Washington School of Law. During his time at UW, he clerked for the Washington State Attorney General's office and the Honorable William L. Dwyer (deceased federal court judge). During law school he also hired on with the law firm of Stanislaw Ashbaugh (first as a law clerk and then as an associate attorney). For the next seven years Troy worked with this firm (and a spin-off), handling a variety of cases in construction, real estate, intellectual property, securities and employment.. In 1995 Troy, along with his partner, started a new law firm in downtown Bellevue. This firm grew from 3 employees to over 20 employees, and became one of the top 20 largest firms based on the Eastside in the late 1990s. While the firm, name and shareholders have changed through the years Troy has remained the firm's managing shareholder, as well as its lead litigator.. Troy's practice primarily focuses on business counseling and dispute resolution in the following areas:. Troy has successfully handled over a thousand such disputes. Perhaps more importantly to clients, Troy has actually tried over 50 such disputes, including a number of them in the multi-million dollar range. The following is a sample of some of the cases Troy has successfully handled:. Besides the experience Troy has gained in handling many cases and disputes over the years, he has also gained experience in resolving disputes (especially with municipalities) through his relationship with the City of Sammamish, Washington. Troy was involved in the incorporation of the City back in the 1990s. He was one of seven individuals elected to the first City Council and helped set up the city from scratch. Troy served two terms as the mayor of the City.. When Troy is not practicing law, Troy spends the bulk of his time with his family. Troy and his wife Kim have been married for 26 years, have 5 children, one married, and one grandchild (ages 10-23). Troy serves as the Unit Commissioner for his son's Boy Scout Troop and volunteers as a basketball coach for various Boys & Girls Club basketball teams (that his girls play on). Troy loves to play basketball and tennis and is an avid political affecionado.. Troy stands ready, willing and able to help you with any of your business needs.

The only thing that really matters is who you love. After thirty years as an estate planning and probate attorney, that’s one thing that I know for sure! Yes, we’ll ask you about the money, the tax planning, the way your retirement and life insurance are designated, who gets your jewelry and shop equipment. But we always circle back to the issue of why those things are important. Who do you love, and how should they be cared for if when you are gone? What is the best tax advantaged way to care for those people?. Everybody has a Will. The state legislature wrote one for you. It’s called the Intestacy Statute. The state’s Will everywhere in the US gives money to youngsters when they turn 18. The State’s Will won’t give money to charities. It might provide for your parents, but maybe not. The State has to presume that you didn’t trust anyone to handle your affairs without being supervised, because if you had trusted someone, you would have told us. The result is that if you don’t have a Will, the Courts will supervise every move that your Executor makes. The Executor can’t sell the house without the Court reviewing all the offers. She can’t clean out your home or have a garage sale without an order from the Court.. Our goal is to help you identify your wishes, and then draft documents that capture your heart, planning in a way that gives you the best estate tax planning, maximizing your gifts.. We are located in the heart of Bellevue, WA and our office is easily accessible to King County areas of Seattle, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Renton, Issaquah, Bothell, Mill Creek and Redmond.. Madeline Gauthier is a graduate of Gonzaga University Law School and the University of Florida's Graduate Tax Program. She is formerly an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Washington. Her private practice opened in Bellevue, WA in 1992, where she has specialized in estate planning, probate and the tax complications of both of those areas.. Memberships include the East King County Estate Planning Council (formerly a board member), the East King County Bar Association (previously a board member), the King County Bar Association, and the East King County Bar Probate, and Estate Section (currently chair).

Thanks for visiting my office profile.. I represent injured people.  That's all I do, and all I've done since 1983.  In that time, I've had the honor to speak for well over 1,000 victims of others' negligence, mainly from King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, but from all over Western Washington, and from Eastern Washington as well.  I've also appeared in the courts of Oregon, Idaho and California.. While most injury cases settle out of court,  I've tried over one hundred cases to conclusion, mainly in Seattle, Tacoma and Everett, but also in Spokane, Yakima, Tri-Cities, and San Diego.. Nobody wants a "good" injury claim;  that means you've suffered a bad injury.   On the other hand, if you are seriously hurt, you need experienced, competent representation.. I'm honored to have earned an "AV"--"preeminent"--rating from Martindale-Hubbel each year since 1999.  Martindale is an anonymous, random peer review/rating organization, and the "AV" rating means that a the lawyers that I work with and against think highly of my work.. I'm proud to say that I am willing to handle medical negligence cases, on behalf of people whose health care providers failed them.  These are very difficult, time consuming and risky cases, and many plaintiffs' attorneys won't touch them.    We are willing to investigate such cases, and if there's solid proof of negligence, we'll take them on.. Like most plaintiff's laywers, we also handle all other injury claims, incuding automobile accidents, "slip and fall" accidents, construction site injuries, etc.   Our clients consistently compliment my excellent staff for the genuine care and attention they give to the cases we handle.. We'll be glad to talk to you about your case.. Best wishes and good luck.. Dave

He has been selected as a Super Lawyer by Washington Super Lawyers Magazine through a peer-evaluated process and to which only 5 percent of the state’s attorneys have been selected.. In his over 30 years of handling major personal injury, insurance, medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases, Mr. Traverso has been successful in a variety of claims and lawsuits, recovering many millions of dollars in compensation for his clients.  Case types have included the following:. After growing up in the Seattle area, Mr. Traverso obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts--Behavioral Science from Concordia University in 1988.  While in college he was a decorated baseball player and scholar-athlete.  He then received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1991.  While in law school, he received membership into the prestigious Traynor Society for academic achievement (multiple years on the Dean's List), and served as a two-year writer and Assistant Editor for the school's law review, the Pacific Law Journal (legislative review staff).. After returning to Seattle and receiving his license to practice law in 1991, Mr. Traverso began representing injured police officers for their personal injury claims.  After working in a prominent Seattle law firm, he moved his practice to the Seattle Police Officers’ Guild in the 1990s, where he limited his practice at that time to representing injured police personnel and was the only Washington lawyer doing so.  While his practice has substantially expanded over the years to include citizen clients, Mr. Traverso continues to help officers and civilian employees from all Washington police departments, and their loved ones, with personal injury, medical malpractice, or wrongful death claims, in addition to representing all members of society with such claims.. As an experienced personal injury lawyer, athlete, and college coach (hitting coach/assistant coach for Seattle University's Women's Softball program), Terence Traverso is also uniquely aware of the value of physical health and the personal losses that injury-accidents can cause.  These personal losses often extend beyond just pain and frequently include devasting losses to one's activities, work duties, and lifestyle..
